On August 27, CORUN signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Railway Construction Kunlun Investment Group Co., Ltd. (Kunlun Group) and the National Engineering Research & Test Center for Advanced Energy Storage Materials on comprehensive cooperation in the field of new energy.

On May 28, the launch ceremony for CORUN’s “Yichun Liyuan Large-scale Energy Storage & Digital Energy System Integration Project” was held in Yichun, accelerating the production, research, and development of CORUN’s 3 GWh energy storage system integration and new energy storage batteries.

As the importance of energy storage safety increases and the demand for frequency regulation grows, our nickel-metal hydride battery products will have more “opportunities to shine”.

Recently, good news came from Lanzhou Jinchuan Jinke Resource Recycling, a joint venture of CORUN. The company’s 5,000 tons/year waste Li-ion battery recycling production line has been fully completed and put into operation, marking a solid step forward in the field of battery recycling.

To listen to investors’ voices and enhance their understanding of CORUN, on January 17, CORUN and Guosen Securities Foshan Branch held an investor exchange meeting at Foshan CPEV. President Pan Lixian, Secretary to the Board of Directors Zhang Fei, and Head of the Securities Affairs Department Tang Rui attended the event. They engaged in in-depth discussions with investors about CORUN’s development history, technological research and development progress, and the layout of lithium battery and energy storage businesses.

On November 3, the 63rd China Capital Market Senior Seminar and Shanghai Stock Exchange Autumn Directors’ Forum was held in Yichun, Jiangxi Province. Mr. Zhang Judong, Chairman of CORUN, was invited to attend and delivered a speech titled “Lithium and Nickel Drive Sustained Growth, and Energy Storage Opens Up Strategic Value”. He discussed the opportunities and challenges faced by lithium battery materials and large-scale energy storage with the participants.

On September 27th, the 2023 Council Meeting of the National Engineering Research & Test Center for Advanced Energy Storage Materials (hereinafter referred to as the “National Engineering Research & Test Center”) was successfully held in Changsha, Hunan Province. The meeting added Wuhan University, Shenzhen University, Sanxia Technology, CALB, Chengdu Intermet, and Jiangsu Guoxia as member units. Researcher Zhong Faping, Director and Chief Scientist of the National Engineering Research & Test Center, was elected as the Chairman. The meeting also reviewed and approved seven major categories of battery and energy storage technology research and development directions for the National Engineering Research & Test Center from 2024 to 2026.

Gathering in Chenzhou for “lithium” and discussing a green future. From August 25 to 27, the First Lithium Resource Innovative Application and Development Conference was successfully held in Chenzhou, known as the “Land of Nonferrous Metals”. The National Engineering Research & Test Center for Advanced Energy Storage Materials and the Chenzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone signed the Entry Contract for the “New Process Demonstration Pilot Platform Project for Multi-metal Co-production”. This project will focus on lithium extraction from lepidolite and decommissioned battery recycling. Leveraging key technologies for the industrialization of multi-metal co-production from lepidolite concentrate and battery recycling black powder materials, it aims to develop innovative processes with multi-metal co-production, high lithium recovery, low energy consumption, low tailing production, and low water consumption. This will help build an industrial closed loop from natural mines (lithium extraction from lithium ore) to urban mines (lithium extraction from battery recycling).

In the afternoon of August 15, CORUN, Yichun Mining Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Yichun Mining”), and its controlled subsidiary Yichun Liyuan jointly signed the Capital Increase and Share Subscription Agreement of Yichun Liyuan New Energy Co., Ltd. Yichun Mining contributed its 30% equity stake in Yifeng Donglian Mineral Products Development Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Donglian Company”) as capital to increase its shareholding in Yichun Liyuan.

Recently, the fifth batch of national-level specialized and new “Little Giant” enterprises was announced by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Hunan CPEV, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CORUN, successfully made the list, becoming another excellent enterprise to be awarded this title after Changde Lyrun.

On the morning of June 29, the 2023 International Digital Energy Expo kicked off grandly at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, attracting participation from over 100 countries and regions and more than 400 units. During the exhibition, the Shenzhen Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Electrochemical Energy Storage Industry Alliance, with CORUN as one of its founding members, was officially announced. Dr. Zhong Faping, Chief Scientist of the National Engineering Research & Test Center for Advanced Energy Storage Materials, was appointed as a member of the Strategic Advisory Expert Committee for the Development of the Electrochemical Energy Storage Industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Advanced energy materials are the material basis for the development and utilization of new energy sources and play a pioneering and strategic role in the development of China’s new energy and energy storage industry. On June 16, the Hunan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology issued the Notice on Clarifying Major Matters Related to the “4+6” Industrial Clusters (hereinafter referred to as the Notice). CORUN was recognized as a Leading Enterprise in Hunan’s Advanced Energy Materials Industry Cluster. Dr. Zhong Faping, Chief Scientist of the National Engineering Research & Test Center for Advanced Energy Storage Materials, was appointed as the Chairman of the Strategic Expert Committee for the Hunan Advanced Energy Materials Industry Cluster.
